How many design submissions can I expect?

The amount of designs received varies based on the amount of prize money, the complexity of the design (a web design is more difficult to create than a logo design for example) and the amount of feedback you provide.

On average logo design contests offering €200 prize money receive between 40-50 design submissions, contests offering 500€ normally receive around 150 submissions.

What should I keep in mind when creating a web design project?
One common question with web design projects is whether or not the designer should also program the website. Some contest holders set the prize money higher to include programming in the design service. Web design projects are typically more successful when programming is kept separate from the design competition. Programming should ideally be offered to the winning designer as a follow-up project.
